FAQ

Q. What is Valiant?
A. Valiant is a realistic sci-fi series set in the near future where the crew of a small ship struggles to survive in the aftermath of World War III.

Q. Where can I watch this series?
A. Unfortunately, you can’t…yet. Valiant isn’t a series yet. We’re still in the very early stages of developing this project. However, we do have some stories and YouTube videos for you to watch. Our next step is to produce audio episodes. If you want to see Valiant become a series, join our community and share Valiant with your friends.

Q. When will you launch the series?
A. I would love to launch Valiant in 2026. However, starting from scratch makes it difficult to set a firm launch date. There are many factors that go into launching a series, so I can’t guarantee a timeline yet. I will keep everyone updated as development progresses.

Q. What is the overall message or theme of Valiant?
A. The theme of Valiant is hope in dark times. Many stories show hope through grand heroic actions. Valiant takes a different approach: it shows that hope can be found in small acts. In a world that often feels hopeless, it can seem like our individual lives don’t matter. Through Valiant, I want to show that even small choices can make a real difference.

Q. Is Valiant “woke”?
A. The primary goal of Valiant is to tell a compelling story. The characters and themes grow naturally from the world and the narrative rather than being shoehorned in.

Q. What role does AI play in the production of Valiant?
A. My goal is that AI will not feature in the final version of Valiant. Currently, I use AI tools to help demonstrate concepts and visuals. However, as funding allows, I have already begun hiring human voice actors and human writers. My long-term plan is to replace AI elements with human talent as the project grows.

Q. When does Valiant take place?
A. Valiant takes place in the mid-to-late 21st century. The story begins six years after World War III. Earth and the rest of the solar system are still struggling to recover from the aftermath. In the Valiant universe, humanity had already begun colonizing the solar system in the 90’s, so by the time of the story there are established, yet fragile, settlements beyond Earth.

Q. How is Valiant different from Firefly?
A. While Valiant shares a similar “space western” tone with Firefly, the major difference is realism. Valiant is set within our own solar system and is grounded in real locations, realistic physics, and plausible technology. This gives the series a harder sci-fi foundation.

Q. How is Valiant different from The Expanse?
A. Like The Expanse, Valiant focuses on realistic science and a believable solar-system setting. However, The Expanse depicts a mature interplanetary civilization with entrenched political powers. Valiant takes place much closer to our present day, in a younger and far more fragile spacefaring society still recovering from Earth’s collapse. Mars is a stronger political force, Earth is weaker, and many colonies operate more like frontier towns.

Q. Why should I watch Valiant instead of just rewatching Firefly or The Expanse?
A. First of all, you should absolutely rewatch Firefly and The Expanse. Those shows are fantastic! But Valiant offers a different kind of story. It combines the realism of hard science fiction, with a post-apocalyptic solar system, all wrapped up in a fun space western vibe. The result is a space adventure that reflects the struggles of the modern world while reminding us that even small acts can help build a better future.
